COMPLETED PROJECTS - ECLIPSE BAR

CP Sound, Staines-based sound and lighting installation specialists, has designed and fitted their latest installation with the first of a an innovative new concept in LED lighting technology. This has been under development for the last few months.

The fixture is a screen encased in a custom aluminium extrusion, supplied as a 10 mm thick panel, capable of unobtrusive and elegant integration into any environment. It's made from laser etched acrylic material and side lit by DMX controllable LED strips that criss-cross the light across entire screen surface. When the light is caught in the etchings, a prism effect directs it evenly across the panel fascia.

The first installation of this exciting new technology has just been completed by CP Sound in the chill out area of the exclusive Eclipse wine bar and bistro in Brompton Road, London.

The VIP room is highly exclusive and totally white, complete with high backed curvey seating and low tables. One 1500 x 1000 mm screen was sufficient to produce a rich, comfortable colour saturation throughout the room. CP complimented the screen output with the addition of Pulsar Chroma Dome colour changing LED fixtures for wall up-lighting and for flooding the ceiling. These are situated behind the curved seating backs, and the screen and the Pulsar luminaires are linked by DMX and colour-change in tandem.

The new LED system can produce 16 million colours and an infinite variety of combinations. It offers the additional flexibility of colouring the room to highlight specific promotions - like a recent Verve Cliquot evening - corporate events and functions or for more conventional mood lighting.

Stephen Fearon comments, "I'm really impressed with the design neatness and output power. We're quoting on many others for back bar decorations and as a compliment matched programmable interior lighting schemes".

Other advantages include low running costs, great longevity and light weight. The entire downstairs area at Eclipse is tanked with a plastic liner to exclude water, so all fittings have to be glued onto the walls and ceilings, making weight a real issue.
