COMPLETED PROJECTS - NESTLE COLD ROOM
| A more unusual project recently
undertaken by CP Sound was the installation of of a tannoy system into the
cold room at Nestlé, Middlesex. The system is required to operate at -46oC!
The system is used by engineers undertaking maintenance work in this potentially dangerous environment. It is essential they have constant contact with the outside world. |

The job required some specialist acoustic calculations and calibration, undertaken by Colin Pattenden. CP Sound installed Shure self-canceling microphones with a gate on each channel. Colin notch-filtered out any background frequencies that leaked through so engineers can simply walk up to the mic and talk into it - with a minimum of hassle. The mic's automatically cancel out the environmental noise and speech is clearly audible. The system is driven by RSE amplifiers.
