CP Sound has been experiencing an incredibly hectic couple of years, building up to a crescendo in the steamy summer months which are keeping both audio and lighting departments fully occupied ……
Situated in the heart of London's West End, Glendola Leisure asked CP Sound to provide a system with wikkid soundz and killa bass, secreted amidst the foliage at the Rainforest Café. The club is currently being hosted by Radio 1's full-on legendary Dreem Team. |

The intention is to transform the heavily themed restaurant into a multi-purpose club space and maximise its potential as the night goes on. Rainforest needed audio facilities to the club in two locations - upstairs (the Bassment) and downstairs (the Sub-Bassment) - of the restaurant. This amounted to a serious amount of sound system capable of delivering an unforgettable, loud and 'phat' sound!
At the designated time, dining tables are cleared from the floor, bass bins wheeled out on casters, together with a portable DJ box, complete with twin turntables and Formula Sound FSM 400 mixer - appearing magically from behind the tropical vegetation.

Installed cables already connected to the amp rack plug into the bass bins and DJ box. The top cabinets and DJ monitors are installed and permanently wired to the amp rack. The Dreem Team wanted heaps of powerful bass, so CP Sound's Colin Pattenden designed the system utilising JBL SP128 S bass bins - twin 18 inch 1600 Watt enclosures with plenty of attitude! Each bass bin has its own CC1500 bridged 4 Ohm RSE amplifier with Dod crossovers and graphics. There are four upstairs, two downstairs and they rock! |

Upstairs are JBL MS112 tops driven by RSE CC1200s and there are two more JBL MS112 tops downstairs - driven by RSE PFX 1000CC amps. The DJ monitors are also JBL - MS115s - powered by an RSE PFX 400 CC bridged into 8 Ohms, delivering 400 Watts.
The two systems are linked via a switch so the Bassment system can be driven by the upstairs DJ.
The sound system was given a good hammering by The Dreem Team during the opening night and many more will follow.
CP Sound also put in a flexible and cost effective lighting system to be used for the club events, consisting of eight MADScans and four MADStars on four lighting stands with T-Bars, controlled by a MAD 1 controller in the DJ mixing areas.
The lighting rig is split upstairs and downstairs in a mobile format, and, as with the sound, the Bassment lighting rig can be controlled from upstairs if desired.
