Pasquale Quadri was quick to realise that modern advances in lighting technology could be exploited to the maximum effect in the entertainment and show business world. Resolving to make the most of his knowledge of optics and his passion for electrical engineering, Pasquale founded Clay Paky on 28 August 1976, taking the first step in the search for creative and refined lighting effects that continues to this day.

In 1976 Clay Paky started its research and manufacturing operations in a factory at Seriate (near Bergamo in the north of Italy).

The first major technical and business successes of the firm date back to those early years, thanks to a series of products mainly designed to bring spectacular new effects to dancehalls and discotheques. As the firm developed, the original site proved too confined for the flourishing manufacturing activities and changed organisational needs, so remaining in the vicinity of Bergamo, in 1982 Clay Paky relocated to the industrial site at Pedrengo from which, following various extensions and modifications over the years, the firm continues to operate.

Stage Scan the brand new luminaire for lighting designers working in the concert, television and theatre sectors. This new fixture joins GOLDEN SCAN HPE and SUPER SCAN ZOOM to create an absolutely matchless trio, setting industry benchmarks in terms of performance and reliability in the professional lighting sector.

With Stage Scan there's no need to hang around for the bulb to cool before switching on again: the built-in hot-restrike igniter means that the luminaire is always ready for action. You won't even be left in the dark after momentary power failures, so there's no need to keep your fingers crossed during thunderstorms! And when the shutter is closed, you can either power down the luminaire direct from the desk or select automatic power-down.

Stage Scan's innovative MSZ (Multi Step Zoom) system provides apertures from 13 to 24 degrees by selecting the most suitable of the fixture's 6 lenses - directly from the lighting desk.

You'll also have fingertip control of any colour you can imagine, thanks to the RGB colour mixing system and to the special frost filters including the exclusive Clay Paky "flou effect".

Want to repeat a particular graphic effect on several luminaires? No problem - Stage Scan features a rotating prism indexing system in addition to gobo wheel indexing.

Golden Spot 1200 is a very powerful moving body effects projector with an HMI 1200W/S lamp that offers cutting-edge performance whilst meeting any budget.
In the 10+3 channels, the projector offers two separate gobo wheels: one for bi-directional rotating gobos with adjustable speed, all indexable over 540° with selectable 8 or 16 bit resolution, and the other for fixed gobos. These two gobo wheels can also be used in combination.
The gobos can be interchanged and selected from a vast range of dichroic and photographic versions, in decorative glass or metal.

The optical unit uses a wide-angle 24° lens with electronic focusing, which ensures a perfectly clear image at any distance and aperture. An additional lens, housed inside the projector, can be fitted by hand to reduce the light beam to 15°.

The vast choice of colours that can be obtained with Golden Spot 1200 is based on a series of very pure dichroic and special effects filters, which are mounted on two wheels and may be combined. The special effects include two filters for correcting the colour temperature to 3200K (hot filter) and to 6000K (cold filter), a 5-sided prism and a frost filter. Other built-in effects are iris, dimmer and stop/strobe effect.

This projector utilises broad and smooth movements (450° Pan, 252° Tilt) with selectable 8 or 16 bit resolution, a moving body lock for transport, automatic return to the starting position of the moving body after accidental movements and easy access to inside the projector.

Golden Spot 1200 is a very versatile projector which excels in many environments including touring, TV, theatre and discotheques - as well as applications that benefit from its extraordinary efficiency and range of the moving body, while saving on investment and maintenance.

Stage COLOR 1200

A 4-disc Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Amber colour mixing system provides an infinite number of rich hues plus a full range of pastel shades - sure to meet the approval of the most discriminating lighting designers. The exclusive GTC (Gradual colour-Temperature Correction) system provides gradual correction of colour temperature differences from one luminaire to the next.

You can choose between three diffusion intensities (including one with an exclusive 50° beam angle), and special effects such as concentric twin-coloured beams and ultraviolet light. These are just some of the great features you will find in Stage Color 1200, the most powerful and imaginative washlight for advanced applications currently on the market. Stage Color is revolutionary, thanks its easy conversion into the Stage Zoom 1200 effects projector.

SHADOW followspots use the sophisticated electronics and micro mechanics technology of intelligent spotlights, wich are now widely used both in both theatrical and mobile applications. With its thorough going knowledge of the needs of these professional users and its mastery of avant-garde technology, Clay Paky has been able do design Shadow with all characteristics essential for a professional followspot, plus a whole range of innovative features.

The Electronic Control Panel

Levers and knobs, typical of traditional followspots, have been replaced by push-buttons and sliders, giving easier, more accurate and quicker control of intensity, colour, aperture diameter, colour temperature and strobing rate of the light beam.

Other lighting effects

ASTRORAGGI POWER is the technological interpretation of a dance floor effect which, over the years, has achieved the status of an all-time discotheque centre-stage classic.
Today's ASTRORAGGI POWER is even more powerful, and it can be electronically controlled from the lighting desk for perfect co-ordination with even the most sophisticated lighting installations.

ASTRORAGGI POWER projects 102 concentrated pencil beams in constant motion, animating the dance floor with a spectacular shower of light. The two main functions are fully controllable: continuously variable movement speed and light intensity, which can be gradually increased from dark to full power.

Smoke Machines

When you use smoke in a show venue, the lighting becomes visible and palpable and takes on a wealth of shades and tones. Founded on its long experience of show lighting, Clay Paky now brings you Golden Fog, a range of smoke machines that embody all the quality and reliability that you would expect of a Clay Paky product.

Golden Fog is available in three versions - Golden Fog 1000, Golden Fog 2000 and Golden Fog 2000 DMX - to suit the different needs of every environment. With low voltage remote controls isolated from the mains supply, they meet the highest safety standards; and the fluid thermostats ensure maximum efficiency. Golden Fog uses an odourless, non-toxic water-based liquid available in three grades: normal, light and heavy smoke.
